Well, hello!
I’m Laura, or Artygal on Pinterest and Ravelry. I love knitting and spinning and also enjoy weaving and sewing to varying degrees of enthusiasm and skill. I’m very flattered to be invited to join this collective, despite feeling like the very less stylish cousin!
Recently I was on holiday in Dorset, thoroughly relaxing and spinning on my new IST Turkish spindle everywhere I could. Well, it would have been rude not to when there were even tiny streets there that had suitable names
I spun, span, did spinning at West Bay, Cerne Abbas, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door (high on a hill where I thought a child was going to break his neck the way that he turned to look at what I was doing), Chesil beach,
Portland Bill; in the pub, in numerous tea rooms and ice cream parlours; on the swing set on the apartment’s terrace. I also knitted on my Vortex shawl , but not as voraciously.
One of my highlights was a visit to Frank Herrings. Downstairs, art materials; upstairs, yarny goodness – including looms that cost more than my car.
It was all a bit overwhelming, so despite my best intentions, all I ended up purchasing was a bottle of spinning oil. Ah well, it’s not as though I’m lacking in fibre or yarn.
Hello Laura, welcome!
Thank you!
